Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations
We are 7 weeks away from Barton’s celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The first event will be the unveiling of a plaque on, what we are now calling, “The Jubilee Triangle” in the centre of the village. This will take place around midday on Saturday 4th June. The Hoops will be open for drinks from about 11:30. In the afternoon there will be a picnic at the recreation ground with teas available at the Pavilion, entertainment by JezO’s, fancy dress and family fun. One important afternoon event will be the dedication of the Oak tree planted on the Leys which is now protected by a “Crown” tree guard made by the blacksmith. Later in the afternoon will be the Grand Prize draw and Golden ticket draw.
Evening entertainment is provided by JezO’s and Luna and the Wolfs. Two sets of live music by Luna and tracks spanning the decades of the Queen’s reign when the band are not on stage. Food and drink can be purchased on site with food vans and bar available from 6 pm. Planned close is midnight.
Attached is a flyer to share. More details will be available on Grand Prize draw ticket purchase in the coming weeks.
