Quiet road through the village, but does have two side streets with majority elderly in retirement or monitored accommodation. Baptist church and recreation ground are on this road. There is only a pavement on one side. Farm vehicles use this road as turning from New Road to A603 is nearly impossible for long farm trailers.
a) Blind Give Way. Road rises so difficult to see white Give Way marks. No Give Way sign.
b) Bus stop and complex junction.
c) Parked cars on bend. Often cars have to dip into Ivy Close to avoid vehicles passing parked cars. Parking associated with Church, Post Office and shop, school runs and commuters leaving cars to cycle or catch bus into Cambridge.
d) Warden-controlled and retirement homes. Elderly pedestrians and drivers.
e) Pavement on one side of High Street only. Regular pedestrian crossing.
f) Elderly residents in retirement homes on Allens Close. Footpath to church, school and other local amenities.
G) Entrance to recreation ground and the “Leys” common land. Car park for the recreation ground, tennis courts, pavilion and children’s playground.
h) Footpath through to Holben Close on blind corner. Have to cross to High Street pavement.
i) Driveways on blind bend. Narrow pavements towards Wimpole Road (A603) end. Crossing to garage. Cyclists along A603 cycle path.
