Please share with us your memories of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953.

 

My sister and brother dressed up as Queen Elizabeth I and Walter Raleigh for Derby’s celebration and won a box of chocolates for first prize! Chocolates were highly valuable in 1953 post-war Britain with many food and luxury items still rationed.
